JONATHAN MARSHALL

Main Ring

Jonathan Marshall has been a professional falconer and horse trainer since 1985. His Free Spirits live experience is totally unique and includes stunning horses and falcons which work together in a carefully choreographed performance. It includes dramatic music which climaxes with the falcon flying right through the horses legs at over 100mph.

MANGLED WURZELS

Music Stage

The Mangled Wurzels are a three-piece Scrumpy & Western band from Somerset, writing and performing in the style of Adge Cutler and The Wurzels.

Formed in 2005, the band have established themselves, performing across the West Country and beyond, with their highly entertaining live performances, blending classical Wurzel songs with original compositions!

MR & MRS FLORA

Walkabout 

Mr & Mrs Flora are living, moving sculptures of flowers, and are entirely costumed in scented silk flowers so realistic that people ask if they’ve been freshly picked! They are the most breathtakingly beautiful Flower Stilt-Walkers. 

 

THE ROCKETS

Village Green

Combining adrenaline-fuelled stunt action, this talented group of young children will astound you with their airborne stunts and formation riding performance!


FUN KITCHEN

Food & Cheese Pavilion

Fun Kitchen will be bringing their cookery-class workshops to the Show for children to learn new skills, explore tastes, cook up healthy, tasty treats and embed core skills through cooking!

FALCONRY 

Performance By: Mere Down Falconry

Falconry is a captivating and time-honoured tradition that celebrates the partnership between humans and birds of prey, highlighting the beauty, skill, and majesty of these magnificent creatures.

Falcons, known for their speed and agility, are often used to hunt birds in flight, while hawks excel at pursuing ground-dwelling prey such as rabbits and squirrels.

HEAVY HORSES

Heavy horses have historically been employed for a variety of tasks, including plowing fields, pulling carts and wagons, hauling heavy loads, and logging.

Despite their large appearance, many heavy horse breeds are known for their gentle and docile temperament, making them suitable for work around people.

MOUNTED GAMES

Mounted games demand a combination of riding skills, including balance, control, precision, and speed.

Riders must communicate effectively with their horses and make split-second decisions to navigate obstacles and complete tasks within the allotted time!

This popular, high speed, action packed racing team of terriers will show off their skills. Fast, furious and hilarious! Your terrier (or pet dog that likes to identify as a terrier – no judgement here) can have a go too!

From doggy demonstrations to have a go activities, Charismatic Pets will be in the Dog Ring making sure everyone is having fun with their dog.

Activities range from have a go hoopers to dog parkour. A dog behaviourist will also be on hand for any questions you may have relating to your dogs behaviour.

Junk Jodie is an award-winning visual artist, crafter, performer, storyteller, environmentalist and workshop leader.

Junk Jodie uses recycled materials to spread the message about the climate emergency, encouraging families to reduce, reuse, recycle and take care of our planet. This unique style of storytelling has a focus on mindfulness and positive mental health for children.

FROME BIRTHING CENTRE

Located in the Little Show Goers Play Zone, you will find a quiet space within a marquee where parents can feed and change their babies in private.

SAND ART

FREE Activity By: Marlowe’s Makes Sand Art 

Sand Art is a picture design where a section is peeled off one at a time and coloured in with different coloured sands to build up a beautiful picture.

POTTERY PAINTING

FREE Activity By: Arty Kids Pottery Painting 

Pottery painting with a huge selection of novelty moulds available.

There will be a selection of poster, neon, glitter and metallic paints to use PLUS embellishments to decorate your masterpiece!

Arty Kids will be on hand to help and advise should you need it, aprons and washing facilities are available. 

CIRCUS SKILLS

FREE Activity By: The Workshop Company 

Come and have a go at an array of circus equipment such as juggling, plate spinning, hula hoops, diabolo, stilt walking, unicycle, pedal-go, poi, devil sticks and tight rope walking.

Circus trainers are on hand to give expert instructions as needed, alongside the participants being given the opportunity to explore and play. The workshops aren’t structured and the participants can come and go as they please.

CRAZY GOLF

A unique portable Crazy Golf experience where each hole is individually themed with its own quirky style, from retro toy props like Trolls and Tonka, to sculptured crashing waves, recycled tyre loop the loops and a giant illuminous alien!

LASER CLAY PIGEON SHOOTING

FREE Activity By: Clayzer Mobile Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting

Clayzer laser clay pigeon shooting is where participants use real shotguns that have been deactivated and modified, it’s important to note that the guns use infra-red technology, not laser and are completely harmless. The guns fire a beam at clays launched from a conventional clay trap. Whenever a trigger is pulled, the control module/scoreboard generates the shotgun ‘bang’ and when a player hits the target it reproduces the sound of a breaking clay. 

BEES & HONEY

Learn about sustainable beekeeping practices and the efforts to conserve bee habitats from habitat loss, pesticide exposure, diseases, and climate change, which threaten their populations.

Fly fishing is a specialized fishing technique that involves using an artificial fly as bait to catch fish.

The Frome Agricultural & Cheese Show is home to one of the oldest cheese awards in the country, celebrating producers and retailers of all sizes across the globe.

From Cheddar to Brie and from Great Britain to Greece, come and taste some of the best cheese in the world!

It’ll make you hungry walking round the thousands of cheese entries in the pavilion so why not sit down, relax and taste some of the fantastic cheeses in the cheese café!

Located within the Cheese Pavilion, the Food Hall is a great place to discover local food producers and delicious treats! From freshly baked goods, sweets, olives, sausage rolls and so much more – there is something for everyone!

HISTORY OF THE SHOW

Take a look at the history of the Agricultural Society from 1861 to the present day!

Learn about the history of show, and in particular, the cheese competition which has become one of the longest running cheese awards in the county.

LIVESTOCK VILLAGE

CATTLE

Watch a variety of cattle being judged, from Beef to Dairy in the cattle rings. Once judging has finished you will be able to walk the cattle lines and come up close and personal with these beautiful creatures.

Don’t miss the Champions from the day in the Grand Parade in the Main Ring! 

SHEEP

Holding both Commercial and Minority & Traditional classes, sheep judging will take place in the morning and the Champions will take part in the Grand Parade in the afternoon. In the meantime, visitors of the show can walk through the sheep lines and meet our woolly friends!

DAIRY GOATS

Dairy goats are domesticated goats that are specifically bred and raised for milk production. They are valued for their high-quality milk, which is used to produce various dairy products such as cheese, yogurt, and soap!

PYGMY GOATS

Pygmy goats are significantly smaller than the standard dairy goat.

Known for their small size and playful nature, make sure you visit the Pygmy Goat marquee to discover more about their friendly demeanour! 

FODDER & GRAIN

Fodder & Grain are essential components of livestock nutrition, providing the necessary nutrients for growth, maintenance, and production.

Classes include Maize, Hay, Wheat, Barley, Lavender and the Tallest Sunflower!

EGG

A true egg-stravaganza!

With classes ranging from Hen, Bantam and Duck eggs to the most Unusual Shaped and Best Painted Egg.
